KATHMANDU: Teachers continued their protest against the school education bill registered by the government in the parliament secretariat for the second day today.

The demonstration was started by teachers who gathered from all across the country to protest in Maitighar, Kathmandu.

The Nepal Teachers Federation lead the movement. Traffic in the valley has been hectic as a result of the movement.

According to reports, the Kathmandu-centered rally, which began on Wednesday, will continue until the demand is met.

The community schools’ teaching and learning have become chaotic as a result of the teachers’ strike.

Students have returned from school. The federation has expressed its dissatisfaction with 18 distinct areas in the education bill that has been introduced in parliament.

In which there are demands such as transfer, promotion, demotion, and not living under the jurisdiction of the local municipality.

The federation has threatened to continue the movement until the demand is met.

They raised slogans such as stop excesses on school teachers, invest 20 percent of the total budget in education, resign the education minister, provide complete free education up to class 12, guarantee periodical promotions in 10 years, approve relief and higher education posts, amend the education bill, etc.
