Inter Miami won the title with Messi as captain

KATHMANDU: Inter Miami, led by Argentine star Lionel Messi, has won the MLS League Cup.

Inter Miami won the League Cup after defeating Nashville Football Club 10-9 in a penalty shootout on Sunday morning.

The teams were level 1-1 after 90 minutes of play. Lionel Messi scored the game’s first goal for Inter Miami in the 23rd minute, but Fafa Picault equalized for Nashville in the 57th minute.

Messi has played 7 games in this League Cup and scored the most 10 goals.

Inter Miami won the title for the first time in this league cup, which happened for the third time.

Earlier in 2019 this title was won by Mexican club Cruz Azul and in 2021 it was won by Mexican club Leon.
