Egypt earns $10.7 billion in tourism revenue (with photos)

KATHMANDU: Egypt has collected 10.7 billion USD in revenue in the fiscal year 2021/2022 from the tourism sector alone.

Egypt collected 10.7 billion US dollars from tourism alone in fiscal year 2021/2022, which concluded in June 2022.

It made 4.9 billion USD in income the previous fiscal year.

Egypt’s official statistics authority announced on Wednesday that earnings from the tourist sector alone surged by almost 120 percent over the previous fiscal year.

In 2022, the number of visitors visiting Egypt will reach 11.17 million. The overall number of visitors visiting Egypt in 2021 is expected to be 8 million.

According to a survey by Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, the number of visitors visiting Egypt climbed by 46.6 percent over the previous fiscal year.

In 2022, 62.6 percent of tourists visiting Egypt were Europeans, while 26.4 percent were Arabs.

Similarly, 5.8 percent of Americans and the remainder have emigrated from foreign nations.

In 2020, the number of tourists in Egypt decreased due to COVID-19.

After 2021, the number of tourists in Egypt is booming.
