Reynard’s decisive goal in France’s victory

KATHMANDU: France won in the Women’s World Cup 2023 with a 2-1 victory over Brazil on Saturday, maintaining the possibility of entering the knockout stage from Group ‘F’.

Captain Wendie Renard scored the deciding goal with a header towards the end of the game.

France took the lead in the 17th minute with Eugenie Le Sommer’s goal. Debora scored a goal for Brazil in the 58th minute. After this win, France has four points from two games.

Brazil was limited to only three points. The match between the two contenders for the title was of a high standard and both teams played an exciting game.
