Sweden beats Italy in knockout stage

KATHMANDU: In a dominant display, Sweden secured a spot in the knockout stage of the Women’s World Cup 2023 with an easy 5-0 victory over Italy.

With this win, Sweden now leads Group ‘G’ with six points after two games.

Amanda Ilestedt’s double, along with goals from Rolfo, Blackstenius, and Blomqvist, propelled Sweden to the last 16.

Italy stands second in the group with three points, while South Africa and Argentina have one point each.
