KATHMANDU: A meeting between the member secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC) Tanka Lal Ghising and visiting Judo coach Mohammad Mansur from Germany has taken place in Kathmandu today.

Mansur has arrived here to provide training to the Nepali athletes participating in the 19th Asian Games taking place in Hangzhou in China from Sept 23 to Oct 28.

On the occasion, Ghising inquired about a plan for the training session, and pledged on behalf of the Council to provide help in the training.

The International Judo Federation sent Mansur, also the former head Judo coach for Iran, to Nepal, said the NSC President Dipak Harsha Bajracharya.

“At present, we will make Mansur focus on the training. Things will move ahead following the Asian Games,” he said.

Eight athletes (four men and four women) have been selected for the training session for the Games. They are taking a two-day training session at Khusibu in New Bazaar, Kathmandu.
