Prime Commercial Bank won ‘Mahalaxmi Corporate Cricket League 2023’ title

KATHMANDU: Prime Commercial Bank has won the Mahalaxmi Corporate Cricket League 2023. Prime Bank won the title after defeating Machhapuchhre Bank by 40 runs in Monday’s final match.

Earlier, Prime Commercial and NIC Asia faced off against Mahalaxmi Bikas and Machhapuchhre Bank in the semi-finals. Prime Bank defeated NIC Asia Bank by 31 runs in the first semi-final. Pravesh Shrestha of Prime Bank was named Man of the Match in that game.
Machhapuchhre Bank defeated Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank by 5 wickets in the second semi-final match. Machhapuchhre’s Nishesh KC was named Man of the Match in that game.
In the final match, Machhapuchhre Bank won the toss and chose to bat first. Kitartha Shakya of Prime scored the most runs with 24. In terms of bowling, Bishwas Dhakal of Machhapuchhre captured two wickets for 14 runs.
Machhapuchhre Bank, who came into batting in response, made a total of 47 runs. Machhapuchhre’s Roshan Pathak scored 11 runs. Sunil Khadka and Kamalendra Shrestha of Prime grabbed two and two wickets, respectively.
Samir Thapa of Kamna Seva Development Bank was named the tournament’s top batsman, and Cheten Dorje Sherpa of Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank was named the tournament’s best bowler. Similarly, Sanjay Giri of NIC Asia Bank was crowned best fielder.
Ritesh Adhikari of NIC Asia Bank was named best wicket keeper. Kritartha Shakya of Prime Bank was named the Mahalaxmi Corporate Cricket League’s best player.
In the 16-team competition, Sunrise, NIC Asia, Rastriya Commercial, Machhapuchhre, Prime Commercial, Lumbini Bikas, Kamana Seva, and Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank advanced to the quarter-final stage.
Sunrise and NIC Asia met in the quarter finals, as did Rastriya Bank and Machhapuchhre, Prime and Lumbini Bikas, and Kamana Sewa and Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank.
Contestants include Machhapuchhre Bank, Citizens Bank, Himalayan Bank, Rastriya Commercial Bank, Sunrise Bank, Prabhu Bank, NMB Bank, NIC Asia Bank, Prime Bank, Kumari Bank, Garima Bikas Bank, Lumbini Bikas Bank, Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank, ICFC Finance, Shri Investment Finance and Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank participated.
The best players in the categories of the winning and runner-up teams, Man of the Series, Best Bowler, Best Batsman, Best Wicket Keeper, Best Fielder, and so on have received prizes.
