Teacher couple dies in Thankot accident
A truck hit a motorcycle in Chandragiri Municipality-4 Thankot last Saturday at around 3 pm in the afternoon.
KATHMANDU: A couple was killed in an accident on their way home from taking the Teachers Service Commission exam in Kathmandu. A truck collided with a motorcycle, killing two Dhading instructors.
A truck hit a motorcycle in Chandragiri Municipality-4 Thankot last Saturday at around 3 pm in the afternoon.
Govinda Prasad Adhikari, 40, and Januka Aryal, 37, of Dhading Galchi Rural Municipality-4 Baireni, were injured when the truck (Na 5 Kha 5322) collided with the motorcycle (State 3-02-001 Pa 8825).
Adhikari died at the trauma center the same day. His wife Aryal died on Monday morning while receiving treatment at Bansbari’s Neuro Hospital. The truck driver has been apprehended, according to Thankot police.
Both of those killed in the accident were teachers. They were employed in Galchi-5’s Jalkanya Basic School. Govinda Prasad was the principal of the school. Januka was a child development facilitator at the time.
They had both traveled to Kathmandu to attend the Teacher Service Commission exam.
