Body found in Sunkoshi is that of the joint secretary & electrical instructor

KATHMANDU: The bodies of two persons discovered in Sindhuli’s Sunkoshi River on Tuesday have been identified.

Two dead bodies were found in the river at Golanjor Rural Municipality-7 Laukun at 6:30 on Tuesday. Both bodies have been recognized, according to DSP Shailendra Thapa, Assistant Spokesperson for the Armed Police Force.

The bodies of 57-year-old Joint Secretary Krishna Bahadur KC, director of CTEVT’s Administration Division, and 32-year-old Bhanu Poudel, an electrical instructor, were discovered, according to him.

They were found by armed police divers inside the missing vehicle.

The bodies of both were brought to Kathmandu via Sindhuli Hospital’s hearse and brought to Kathmandu at 8 pm on Tuesday night.

Last Friday morning, at about 11:30 am, a vehicle numbered Ba 1 Jh 7467 from Golanjor Rural Municipality-7 Laukun plunges into the river. According to DSP Thapa, the vehicle was found about 200 meters below the place where the vehicle fell.

The vehicle was found by a diver at a depth of about 30 feet and was pulled out with the help of an excavator.

A 56-year-old Yam  Prasad Bhurtel, Director of Planning Division, is still missing.
