Avasar Equity Diversified Fund to invest NPR 39.06 crore in Him Parbat Hydropower Limited
The Power Purchase Agreement for both projects was signed on a take-or-pay basis.
KATHMANDU: Avasar Equity Diversified Fund (the “Fund”), Nepal’s first domestic Private Equity Fund registered with the Securities Exchange Board of Nepal under the Specialized Investment Fund Regulation, 2019, has entered into an investment agreement with Him Parbat Hydropower Limited to invest NPR 39.06 crore in two run-of-river hydropower projects in Dolakha District, Bagmati State, namely Sagu Khola – 1 Hydropower Project (5.5 MW) and Sagu Khola Hydropower Project (20 MW).
The Power Purchase Agreement for both projects was signed on a take-or-pay basis.
The total energy output by both projects is projected to be around 149 GWh per year.
The power generated by both projects will be connected to the national grid via the Singati Substation. The required commercial operation date for both projects is Chaitra 29, 2081 (April 12, 2025).
The Fund’s funding will help to complete the projects on time and contribute to Nepal’s commitment to clean energy.
