Surkhet Airport re-expansion plan

SURKHET: The Karnali state government has reintroduced the Surkhet airport expansion plan.

While presenting the strategy and program for the upcoming fiscal year 2080/81 in the State Assembly on Sunday, State Chief Minister Tilak Pariyar announced that the state government has submitted a plan to re-expand Surkhet Airport.

Former Chief Minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi had previously removed the issue of airport expansion.

Instead, plans were developed to construct a new airport in Bheriganga.

He stated that it would take time for the private sector to develop a new airport and that the existing airport should be extended.

State head Pariyar stated that the airport will be expanded in collaboration with the federal government.
