Banke accident: DPM Khadka’s brother daughter-in-law died, driver also died
Subas Adhikari, 37, of Mangopipal, Gorkha, and Dr. Sanju Khati Khadka, 54, of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-5, Rupandehi, were identified as a victim.
KATHMANDU: Two people died in an accident on Tuesday near Thudia river in Rapti-Sonari Rural Municipality-8 of Banke.
Two individuals, including the driver, were killed when a bus (Me 1 Kha 3335) traveling from Dhangadhi to the east collided with a car (Ba 13 Cha 8253) traveling from Kathmandu to Kohalpur.
Subas Adhikari, 37, of Mangopipal, Gorkha, and Dr. Sanju Khati Khadka, 54, of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-5, Rupandehi, were identified as a victim, according to Sunder Tiwari, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Kohalpur.
Dr. Sanju Khadka, who was injured, and the car’s driver, Subas Adhikari, died while being treated at Kohalpur Teaching Hospital.
Deceased Sanju is the daughter-in-law of Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka. Sanju, who is a doctor by profession, is the wife of the Director of Karnali State Hospital, Dr. Damber Khadka. Damber is brother of Deputy Prime Minister Khadka.
Six passengers on the bus were slightly injured.
The police have taken over the bus and notified the passengers that the event is being investigated.
According to the authorities, both the automobile and the bus were moving at a fast pace.
