KATHMANDU: He stated that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ did not expect to face another vote of confidence so soon. He said this during a speech proposing a vote of confidence in Parliament.

“The government that was formed on Dec 26 received an unprecedented vote of confidence from this parliament,” he said, “Since then, the government has been active in good governance and development. In this context, the election of the new president and vice president was completed. A new government was formed with the expectation of political stability. The relationship between the government ministers and the prime minister was good. It also instilled hope in the people by breaking the all-round disappointment and frustration. However, after my proposal that there should be a national consensus on the president, UML, RPP and RSP withdrew their vote of confidence. They did not say why the vote of confidence was withdrawn.’

He claimed that after UML Chair KP Sharma Oli attempted to confirm that the decision to dissolve Parliament was correct, he realized he was causing great instability in the country.
