KATHMANDU: Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav was elected Vice President.

Yadav, the Janata Samajwadi Party’s candidate on behalf of the power coalition, was elected vice president.

According to the final results of the election held on Friday, Yadav secured 14,536 votes from the State Assembly’s 184 members.

Similarly, 329 members of the Federal Parliament cast 15,792 votes. Yadav secured 30,328 votes.

Similarly, Pramila Yadav of the Janata Samajwadi Party, who had announced her withdrawal from the race, secured 48 votes.

Ram Sahaya Yadav entered politics in 1990 with the Nepal Sadbhawana Party.

He was the founding general secretary of the Madhesi Jana Adhikar Forum and was involved in the first Madhesh Movement (2007).

He began his parliamentary career in the first Constituent Assembly in 2008.
