KATHMANDU: The government has welcomed female pilots from Nepal Airlines Corporation (Nepal Airlines) for international flights.

Sudan Kirati, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, greeted the female flight crew at Tribhuvan International Airport today.

The Minister of Tourism arrived at the airport and greeted the female flight crew who flew from Kathmandu to Dubai and back.

After greeting the female pilot at the airport, Tourism Minister Kirati stated that a female pilot has made history by flying an international flight for the first time in Nepal’s aviation sector.

He stated that women’s international flights have sent a positive message not only to tourism but also to the entire country.

“Not only in tourism, this flight is the first time in the history of Nepal’s aviation that women have flown the plane. Today is the 130th World Women’s Day. I welcomed and congratulated them (female flight crew) and went to the airport to raise their morale,” Tourism Minister Kirati said. said

Minister Kirati stated that this flight demonstrated that women can contribute to the country and society.

A female pilot flew an international flight for the first time in the corporation’s aviation history (Kathmandu to Dubai and back to Kathmandu). Ganesh Kumar Ghimire, the Corporation’s Assistant Spokesperson, stated that the team of pilot Bhavna Pant and co-pilot Srijana Raut flew Kathmandu-Dubai-Kathmandu.

According to him, the female crew of the company’s Airbus 320 flight from Dubai to Kathmandu took off today. On March 4, at 11 p.m., two female pilots boarded the company’s Airbus ‘A’-320 flight from Kathmandu to Dubai.

The Corporation’s flight from Dubai to Kathmandu today was piloted by Bhawana Pant and co-pilot Srijana Rawat. This flight’s crew was entirely comprised of women. The corporation claims that all of the flight attendants are female.

According to the corporation, a female pilot flew an international flight for the first time in the company’s history. The corporation made this coincidence today, on International Women’s Day. In both domestic and international flights, the corporation employs six female pilots.
