KATHMANDU: KP Sharma Oli, Chair of the CPN-UML, emphasized the importance of equal participation of women, who constitute more than half of the population, in the country’s development.
Expressing his best wishes on the occasion of International Women’s Day, he said that the participation and leadership of women in the political, economic and social transformation of Nepal is exemplary for the world.

He stated that the UML-led government’s policies and work in the field of women’s rights have resulted in a significant improvement in Nepal’s gender development index.
