KATHMANDU: The counting of votes for the election of members of the representative assembly in Ilam-2 is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on today.

A unanimous decision was reached during the convened cross-party meeting, determining the initiation of vote counting from Phakphokthum Rural Municipality of Western Ilam at 11 a.m.

The election held on Saturday concluded with a total of 69,287 votes cast.

This electoral area comprises a total of 115,889 eligible voters. Vote collection took place at the Gautam Buddha Community Hall located in Ilam-7.

Preparations for vote counting have been made at two locations within the assembly hall.

According to the Election Commission, the final results will be announced within 12 hours of the commencement of vote counting.
