KATHMANDU: The Bagmati State government plans to compensate family members of those killed by wild elephants with one lakh rupees per family.

This decision was made at the State Council of Ministers meeting on Tuesday.

It has been decided to give relief money to the families of two Makwanpur residents and one Sindhuli resident at the rate of one lakh rupees per family.

The Council of Ministers met and decided on the proposal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law.

Last week, 64-year-old Radha Adhikari of Makwanpur Manhari-4, Santalal Majhi of Bakia-5 and 41-year-old Dandpani Paudel of Sindhuli Kamalamai Municipality-13 Ranibas died in the attack of wild elephants.

The meeting also decided that the National Park would take the initiative to compensate the deceased’s family with Rs 10 lakh.

The meeting accepted Bimal Pokharel’s resignation as Director of the State Good Governance Center.

Similarly, it has been decided to send a budget of 3 million rupees under various headings to be implemented at the local level through the Ministry of Agriculture.
