POKHARA: The Metropolitan Corporation signed a road construction agreement with the Nepal Urban Governance and Infrastructure Project in March 2021.

On July 4, 2022, the project called for tenders and signed an agreement with the Swachhand-Sapna-Worldwide JV. However, due to local disputes, the work could not be completed.

It has been agreed that the road will be one of the most expensive roads in Nepal when completed on July 15, 2025.

The estimated cost of Rs 1.6 billion for the 3.28 km road upgrade was reduced by 39%, and the contractor was awarded the contract for Rs 754.8 million.

The road will be four lanes with right and left footpaths, organized drains, green dividers, organized parking, and street solar lights.

The metropolis has issued instructions to remove the fences within the standards around the road and has scheduled a meeting with the responsible authorities to remove the electric poles and other structures.

Mayor Dhanraj Acharya stated that the road will be upgraded with the assistance of the World Bank.
