KATHMANDU: A Korean woman died in a high camp above Thorangla Pass in the border area of ​​Mustang and Manang Nepal.

According to Manang District Police Office, Korean woman Kim Jesun died on the footpath located at an altitude of about 5350 meters above sea level. The woman was walking alone.

Ram Krishna Shrestha, Acting Incharge of the District Police Office Manang, informed that Manang Police and ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) received information about the death of a Korean woman in the Thorongpass area at around 10:30 on Sunday morning.

Police in charge Shrestha said that a Korean woman, Kim Jesun, died after falling into a lake in Thoranglapas. Two policemen and one ACAP employee reached the scene to rescue the body of the Korean woman.

Lekhnath Gautam, head of ACAP Manang office, informed that the woman died in Manang Ngisyang Rural Municipality, the last point of Manang.

A Korean woman died while traveling on the Round Annapurna Trek. During winter, it is very cold in the area. Kim entered Manang from Besi town in Lamjung on January 10 and set out on a trek to Tilicho Lake or Thorangla Pass. Gautam says that she died due to altitude sickness.

Manang ACAP said that they are coordinating with relevant embassies to recover the body of the Korean woman.

The head of the office, Gautam, has already informed the embassy and informed that the process of coordination with the family has been started by the embassy.

The Korean woman died 5 days after entering Manang while doing the round Annapurna trek.
