Mass cremation of Dr couple in Seti after eight days – with video

POKHARA: Mass cremation has been held for the family of a doctor resident of Pokhara-4 Ganeshtol who died in a plane crash in Seti Gorge of Pokhara.

A 38-year-old Dr. Sushil Shrestha, his wife Dr. Sona Shrestha and their 15-month-old son from the same family, resident of Pokhara-4 Ganesh Tole, died in a air crash while coming from Kathmandu.
A doctor couple was cremated in the same pyre on Sunday in the Seti River, while their minor son was buried on the banks of the Seti River as his the Vratbandha was done.
Due to various illnesses and family concerns, Sushil’s father Madankaji is unable to perform death ritual, so a Brahmin is assigned to perform death ritual.
The bodies of three people had been mutilated. Dr. Sushil spent two years as an orthopedic surgeon at the National Trauma Center. Dr. Sona was also working on her MD.
Dr. Sushil earned his MBBS from Kathmandu Medical College and his MD from the National Institute of Medical Sciences (NYMS).
