Property worth Rs 4.9 million destroyed in the Sidhuwa fire
The cause of the fire is still unknown.

KATHMANDU: A fire destroyed property worth Rs 4.9 million in the Sidhuwa Bazar of Chhathar Jorpati Rural Municipality in Dhankuta district last night, according to the Dhankuta District Police Office.
The fire that broke out from a new house run by Lalita Rai in the rented house of local Santa Bahadur Rai destroyed five houses. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
The fire destroyed property worth Rs 3.7 million, including two tolas of gold and Rs 200,000 in cash belonging to Santa Bahadur, as well as some belonging to Dik Bahadur Khadka and Hom Bahadur Thapa, according to police.

Similarly, property worth Rs 500,000, including two tolas of gold and Rs 70,000 in cash, was destroyed in Jhamak’s house by the fire, while locals Arjun Ghimire and Dambar Thapa also suffered losses.
Chhatra Subba, Chairperson of Chhathar Jorpati Rural Municipality, stated that preparations were being made to provide relief to the victims through the deployment of the rural municipality’s disaster management team.
