NC’s Thapa wins from Bhaktapur-2
He defeated CPN (UML) candidate Mahesh Basnet by a margin of 959 votes.
KATHMANDU: Durlav Thapa of the Nepali Congress was elected to the House of Representatives from Bhaktapur 2.
He defeated CPN (UML) candidate Mahesh Basnet by a margin of 959 votes.
He secured 24,238 votes, while Basnet secured 23,279.
According to the election officer’s office, 2,053 of the total 65,919 votes cast (there are 91,911 registered voters in Bhaktapur district) were invalid.
