KATHMANDU: Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Chairperson of the Nepal Samajwadi Party (NSP), has stated that people should have the right not to vote (Right to Reject) if none of the candidates in the election are deemed worthy.

This was stated by Chairperson Bhattarai on Sunday while responding to questions from journalists during the public program of the NSP’s election manifesto.

He stated that voters in some developed countries exercise such a right and that such authority among the people is required for a prosperous democracy.

If such a right is granted to the people, it is granted the people have the option of not voting for any of the candidates who competed in the election. Voters will be able to declare that they do not want to vote for anyone, according to that.

Similarly, he stated that the people should have the right to recall officials (right to recall) if the representative they elected and sent is dishonest, corrupt, or worthless.
