EC instructions to take action against Madhav Nepal

KATHMANDU: Election Commission (EC) has directed the police to investigate Madhav Kumar Nepal, the chairperson of the CPN United Socialist Party (CPN-S).
The Commission has directed the police to arrest the leader Nepal, who has been nominated as a member of the House of Representatives from Rautahat Constituency No. 1, for an offense affecting the election.
He was directed to proceed with the action process in accordance with Section 39 of the Election Offenses and Punishment Act 2073, claiming that the candidate Nepal has demonstrated temptation by claiming that he will send voters to work abroad with a ‘free visa, free ticket.’
