The CPN’s Ninth Congress has re-elected Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav) as General Secretary. At the CPN’s Ninth Congress in Kapilvastu, Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav) was re-elected, as General Secretary.

The convention elected a central committee of 81 members and alternate central members of 45 members.

According to Central Office Secretary Asal Chhetri, the convention’s decisions will be announced at a press conference in Kathmandu.

The ninth convention was held last Oct 11 at Shivagadhi in Kapilvastu, Biplav’s hometown.

Congress has continued to push the concept of a unified people’s revolution to new heights. Chhetri stated that the integrated people’s revolution is the new course of action and that it is now up to him to enrich it.

Biplav established the CPN under its own leadership in Mangsir (Nov/Dec) 2070, casting doubt on the party’s then-chairperson, Mohan Vaidya.
