Writ of Raju Gurung in Single Bench of Hariprasad Phuyal

KATHMANDU: Rupandehi 2 candidate Raju Gurung’s writ petition against cancellation of candidature has been heard by Judge Hariprasad Phuyal’s single bench.

The election officer’s office canceled Gurung’s candidacy on Tuesday, citing a blacklist for banking offenses.

Gurung was nominated by the CPN United Socialist Party on behalf of the ruling coalition.

On Thursday, he filed a complaint in court, claiming that the candidature was canceled without completion of the process due to a pending case in court.
