Deepak Manange elected unopposed as a member of Gandaki State Assembly

POKHARA: Rajeev Gurung alias Deepak Manange has been elected unopposed as the state MP. Manange, who ran separately from Manang (B), received a unanimous vote.

Dorje Lama Gurung, an independent candidate, ran against him. Gurung filed a withdrawal application with the election officer’s office at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Manange is currently the Gandaki Youth and Sports Minister.

Although Gurung has withdrawn his candidacy, no official announcement has been made.

As the deadline for withdrawing nominations is 3 p.m., the election office will announce that the nominations have been withdrawn and Manang is uncontested after 3 p.m.
