KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) will close for the day on Friday.

NEPSE spokesperson Murahari Parajuli informed that the meeting of the NEPSE board of directors held on Sunday decided to close the share trading from Ashoj (September/October) onwards.

As a result of NEPSE’s decision, there will be only 5 days of share trading from Sunday to Thursday, as in the past.

Previously, there were 5 days of stock trading from Monday to Friday due to the implementation of the government’s decision to give 2 days off per week in Jestha (May/June). Despite the removal of the two-day holiday by the government, NEPSE began trading shares six days a week, from Sunday to Friday. On the other hand, he spent two hours on Friday trading stocks.

Now, as in the past, there will be only 5 trading days in a week. The Securities Board and NEPSE have not confirmed the reasoning behind the start and stop of trading on Friday.
