Case filed against one for embezzling Rs 80 million in foreign exchange

KATHMANDU: The Revenue Investigation Department has filed a case against one person in Kathmandu District Court for embezzling foreign exchange.

Ganesh Poudel, a resident of Samakhusi in Kathmandu, has been charged by the department.

The department claims that Poudel illegally obtained foreign currency and paid the same amount in Nepali currency.

A case related to the misappropriation of foreign exchange has been filed in the Kathmandu District Court with a claim of Rs 82.3 million 26 thousand 806 rupees.

According to the department, an indictment has been filed against him under the Foreign Exchange Act of 2019.
