Heavy rains in Lumle and Jumlepati of Kaski, Urge to adopt high vigilance

KATHMANDU: Extreme rainfall was recorded in the Kaski district at Lumle and Jumleti. Heavy rainfall has been recorded in the last six hours, according to the Department of Water and Meteorology’s Flood Forecast Division.

The Flood Information Center has issued a warning to be on high alert until 9 a.m. due to heavy rain in the last six hours. In the last 24 hours, it has received 171.5 mm of rain. If 140 mm of rain falls in 24 hours, there is a risk of flooding and landslides.

Due to heavy rains, flood warnings have been issued for Kaski and surrounding rivers. On Saturday, Hemja in Pokhara Metropolitan was inundated due to constant rain.
