A case is being registered against Manoj Pandey for 15 years imprisonment
Pandey is accused of raping a Miss Global International contestant in 2014 by inviting her to a hotel.
KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Public Prosecutor’s Office is preparing to file a case against Manoj Pandey, a consultancy operator who was arrested on suspicion of sexual violence.
The District Public Prosecutor’s Office stated that the study of the police report submitted in his case has been completed and that the case will most likely be filed in Kathmandu District Court today. He will be charged with “human trafficking,” according to the public prosecutor’s office. The office has stated that it is preparing to file an indictment seeking 10 to 15 years in prison for physically abusing a minor by holding her body hostage.
The office is also preparing to file charges against the accused for sexual violence and rape.
Pandey is accused of raping a Miss Global International contestant in 2014 by inviting her to a hotel. Pandey sexually abused the victim for six months, taking photos and videos after the rape and blackmailing her on social media platforms TikTok and Instagram.
Pandey, who was absconding after the victim made the incident public, was arrested by the police on May 21 and is being investigated.
