KATHMANDU: A complaint has been filed at the Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) against the Nepali film Kabaddi-4, which is currently being screened across the country.

A complaint has been filed against the film, alleging that it contains derogatory scenes and stories about Buddhism. Robin Kumar Lama, a resident of Sindhupalchowk’s Lisankhu Pakhar Rural Municipality, filed a complaint with the Kathmandu administration on Monday, demanding an immediate halt to the Kabaddi-4 demonstration as well as a change in scene and wording. The film screening committee, which includes the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, has been designated as the appellant’s opponent.

The complaint states, “The main plot and presentation scenes of the Kabaddi-4 movie are subject to serious damage to the dignity of the Buddhist lama monks, the Buddhist community and the nature of opposition to social relations. Pursuant to subsection 4 of section 8 of the Film Production, Exhibition and Distribution Act, 2026, we can remove it and issue an order to make changes or alterations. ‘

Previously, it was demanded that the film’s screening be halted immediately.
