Minister Ale lays foundation stone for arrival terminal building at TIA

KATHMANDU: Prem Bahadur Ale, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, laid the foundation stone for the inland arrival terminal building at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) today.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) is constructing a new arrival terminal building for domestic passengers at Tribhuvan International Airport in response to an increase in the number of domestic passengers.

According to Hari Adhikari, Chief of Civil Engineering Branch, Tribhuvan International Airport, the building will cost Rs 50 million and will be completed in one year.

Prem Nath Thakur, General Manager of Tribhuvan International Airport, stated that a temporary terminal is being built to accommodate the increasing number of domestic passengers. Bright Multi Construction is in charge of the building’s construction. Passengers are expected to be comfortable following the building’s completion.

A new arrival terminal building will be built in the taxi parking lot, and the existing terminal building will only be developed in the departure building. The new terminal hall will measure 41 meters in length and 24 meters in width. A 35-meter-long baggage conveyor belt will be installed.
