Water flow increased in Melamchi, damage to temporary bridge

KATHMANDU: The flow of water in Sindhupalchowk’s Melamchi River has increased. The flood in Melamchi caused by the incessant rains has damaged the bridge, which was built with humid pipes.

According to Prakash Sapkota of the Sindhupalchowk District Police Office, the flood-damaged a place called Phadkeshwari. He stated that the dozer is currently being used for repair work. For the repairs, a team led by Mayor Aitman Tamang has been assembled.

Currently, it is raining in Sindhupalchowk, and the water level in rivers and streams has risen normally. Sindhupalchowk police, on the other hand, stated that no damage was reported in other areas.

A road was constructed in Melamchi Municipality Ward No. 11 after the bridge was washed away by the flood on June 15 last year.
