DHANGADHI: The body of 17-year-old Binod Shahi, who was found dead in Panchadewal Binayak Municipality-4 of Achham, has been picked five days later.

The body was picked up after an agreement was reached between the deceased’s relatives and the police administration. It has been agreed in writing that the body will be autopsied and that the relatives of the deceased will not receive the body until the complaint is registered.

According to the agreement, the teenager’s body is being taken to the Mangalsen district hospital for an autopsy.

Binod’s body, which had gone missing on May 31, was found on June 4 in a gorge near his home in Kuchi Bhir. When the deceased’s family and locals attempted to file a complaint alleging that Shahi had been murdered, the police denied the complaint, and the deceased’s relatives did not pick up the body.

The CPN-UML has charged Nepali Congress cadres with murdering Binod. However, Congress has denied this. On Tuesday evening, police arrested five people on charge of murdering Shahi.
