KATHMANDU: The internet can be disconnected at any time in nine different locations across the country.

The Internet Service Providers Association of Nepal (ISPAN), an umbrella organization of Internet service providers, said the Internet could be cut off at any time due to the Nepal Electricity Authority.

According to ISPAN, internet service in Ilam, Biratnagar, Khotang, Gaighat, Inaruwa, Dharan, Duhabi, Lahan, and Doti could be disrupted at any time.

“The NEA has been cutting off landlords’ power lines at locations where internet points and data centers are connected on a regular basis.” After the NEA cuts off the power supply, the backup system was activated.

The NEA has begun cutting power in some areas, claiming that the internet service provider company has not paid the arrears. Despite repeated requests for payment of arrears, the NEA has begun cutting off power.
