State budget will not exceed Rs 37 billion: Vice Chair Chhetri

BUTWAL: The Lumbini State Planning Commission’s vice-chairperson, Bamdev Chhetri, has stated that the state budget will not exceed Rs 37 billion.

He stated that the Lumbini State budget for fiscal year 2079/80 will be increased to Rs 37 billion by increasing the amount of Rs 35 billion in the state.

Speaking in an interview organized by Reporters Club Nepal Lumbini State in Butwal on Monday, he said that a smaller budget would be available rather than a larger budget.

He stated that the budget would be prepared with agriculture, health, and education at the forefront and that farmers would be given concessional loans without losing 90 percent of their agricultural subsidies.

Stating that the budget should not be brought in such a way as to gain popularity, he argued that the budget should be brought in such a way that it would be spent for the prosperity of the state as large budget would not be implemented.
