Cost of blood risen to Rs 1,640 per unit

KATHMANDU: The price of blood has also been raised by the government.

The government has sent letters to all blood transfusion centers informing them that the new blood price has been set.

The National Public Health Laboratory stated in a letter sent to the centers regarding the new price that the blood service fee per unit has been increased from 810 to a maximum of 1,640.

Previously, blood cost Rs 525 per unit.

At the secretary level, the ministry decided to raise the price of blood on April 5.
