Budget for new fiscal year is being made public today
Finance Minister Sharma has included the possibility of the budget being tabled on the parliament's agenda.
KATHMANDU: MAY. 29 – The government is set to release the budget for the upcoming fiscal year today. Finance Minister Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’ will deliver the budget in the joint sitting of both the Houses of Parliament at 6 pm.
According to the constitution, the budget for the new fiscal year must be presented in parliament on May 29 of each year. The government will make the budget public today, in accordance with the same provision.
Finance Minister Sharma has included the possibility of the budget being tabled on the parliament’s agenda. Bharatraj Gautam kept us updated. Similarly, Finance Minister Sharma is expected to table Fiscal Bill 2079 in parliament.
Before presenting the budget, the government’s policies and programs have been already passed by the parliament by a majority.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s policy and program, which she presented in both houses of the federal parliament on May 24, was passed by a majority on Saturday.
