Kathmandu to become the first utility corridor in country

KATHMANDU: MAY. 24 – The government intends to build a utility corridor connecting Tribhuvan Airport and Maitighar.

The Ministry of Urban Development’s policy and program for the coming year will include the construction of a utility corridor.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari announced the construction of a utility corridor from Tribhuvan Airport to Maitighar while presenting the government’s policy and program on Tuesday. The ministry is also drafting an act on utility corridors.

It is expected that work on the utility corridor will begin only after the said act is passed. This will be the country’s first utility corridor.
