Results of 26 municipalities are yet to come

KATHMANDU: MAY. 23 – The final results of the local level election held on May 13 have yet to be made public.

The outcomes of 26 municipalities, including Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Bharatpur, Birgunj, and Metropolitian, are yet to come.

By 12 p.m. today, the final results of 727 local levels, including 269 municipalities and 458 rural municipalities, had been entered into the Election Commission’s information system.

The results of 95 percent of the 753 municipalities have already been announced. The commission expressed confidence that all constituency results would be declared by May 24.

Due to political disputes over the voting in Triyuga Municipality-12 of Udayapur and Budhiganga Municipality of Bajura, a recount or re-polling will take place following the commission’s decision.
