Surya Life Insurance wins ‘Third Emerging Asia Insurance Award’
Pawan Kumar Khadka, Chief Executive Officer of Surya Life Insurance Company, accepted the awards on behalf of Nepal as a panelist from BIMSTEC countries.
KATHMANDU: MAY. 3 – In the ‘Third Emerging Asian Insurance Award 2021’ organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Surya Life succeeded in winning the award in three categories: ‘Best Effective Adoption of Technology’, ‘Best Strategy in Insurance Spreading in Nepal Insurance Industry’ and ‘Outstanding Industry’.
The award is given based on an excellent performance in various financial indices as determined by many reputable organizations, including the world-renowned Chartered Accountancy and Consultancy Institute PWC Indian Institute of Insurance.

Pawan Kumar Khadka elaborated on the current status and importance of insurance in Nepal, as well as the important role and steps taken by the Insurance Committee, the regulatory body in the insurance sector, in his remarks at the grand ceremony held at the Novotel Hotel in Calcutta, India.
He clarified the need for, and the current state of, digital technology and artificial intelligence in the insurance sector in Nepal.
He also stated that technology would play a significant role in bringing insurance to the far reaches of the country by making it more technology-friendly and making the service more accessible to the general public.
