KATHMANDU: APRIL. 27 – The government has decided to grant a leave two days a week.

The cabinet meeting on Tuesday decided to grant two days of leave on Saturday and Sunday beginning May 15.

Government spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki announced the cabinet decision, saying that it was decided to give leave two days per week.

“Currently, as a trial, office hours will be maintained from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. with effect from May 15, and public holidays will be granted twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays,” the decision stated.

The Oil Corporation proposed giving leave on Sunday, claiming that adding one day of leave per week would reduce crores of rupees in fuel losses and reduce fuel imports.

Following a discussion of the original proposal, the Council of Ministers made such a decision.
