Four die as bus plunges off bridge in Sarlahi

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 27 – At least four people were killed and 30 others were injured when a bus fell off a bridge near Phuljor Khola in Sarlahi on the East-West Highway.

According to Sarlahi Police Spokesperson Madhav Prasad Budhathoki, at noon today, a bus (Na 4 Kha 8555) heading from Birgunj to Janakpur fell from the bridge at Lalbandi of Sarlahi and Phuljor Khola on the border of Ishworpur Municipality.

He stated that an investigation is underway despite the fact that the bus’s front wheel exploded and caused it to fall off the bridge. Injured people are being treated in Lalbandi, Nawalpur, and Hariban. The injured are being transported to other locations, according to the police.  The bus driver has also been injured in the accident.

The bodies of the deceased have been brought to Malangawa State Hospital for autopsy, according to the Area Police Office in Lalbandi.
