SUKUTE: MARCH. 19 – Nepal’s rivers are well-known throughout the world for their adventurous voyages. Nepal’s mountain rivers, in particular, are thought to be suitable for rafting.

Rafting is popular on rivers such as the West Seti, Karnali, Kali Gandaki, Marsyangdi, Trishuli, Upper and Lower Bhotekoshi, and Tamor.

The Trishuli and Bhotekoshi rivers, which are close to Kathmandu, are quickly becoming popular rafting destinations for valley residents. As summer approaches, the number of domestic tourists cruising on these rivers grows by the day.

The resorts that operate cruises from Sindhupalchowk’s Chehere to the Sukute area are remarkably open. Deepak Rai, manager of Tunibote-based Rafting Star Resort, claims that the pressure on Nepali domestic tourists has increased since the first week of Falgun.

According to Rai, the rafting star resort rafts around 300 Nepalis per week. On weekends, as the heat rises, the Sukute area becomes clogged with around 5,000 domestic tourists.

Rafting in Bhotekoshi has grown in popularity as a result of its low cost and proximity. The resorts have created packages ranging from Rs 3,500 to Rs 4,000 that include four meals per day, transportation, lodging, and rafting.

However, nowadays the work of extracting construction materials like sands/aggregates from the riverbank is in full swing, said Deepak Rai, the operator of Rafting Star.
