Death toll rose to 12, four brought to Kathmandu
KATHMANDU: NOV. 7 – The death toll in the Salyan bus accident has reached 12. Similarly, 26 people have been injured. The deceased have been identified as 10 men and two women, according to DSP Govinda Thapa of the District Police Office, Salyan.
DSP Thapa informed Makalu Khabar that six people died at the spot and six others died at the hospital. Their identities are yet to be ascertained. “Out of the 26 injured, 15 are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Khalanga, while seven have been sent to Nepalgunj and four to Kathmandu for further treatment,” he said.
DSP Thapa said that they were sent to Kathmandu after the doctor informed that the condition was serious. The bus (Ra 1 Kha 2552) left for Dang from Salyan district headquarters Khalanga met with an accident at Kharkhola in Kapurkot Rural Municipality-5 at 11 am on Sunday.
Police have estimated that the bus met accident due to high speed.
