Appropriation bill passed amid UML slogans

KATHMANDU: SEPT. 20 – The Appropriation Bill has been passed amid the slogans of the main opposition party CPN (UML). The Appropriation Bill was passed by a majority in the HoR on Monday.

After Finance Minister Janardan Sharma replied after concluding the discussion on the ministry title of the bill, the Speaker had tabled a proposal put forward by Nepal Workers Peasants Party MP Prem Suwal.

After MP Suwal’s proposal to cut spending was rejected, Finance Minister Sharma proposed to pass the Appropriation Bill. The bill was passed by a majority amid UML slogans.

The bill now goes to the National Assembly for clause-by-clause discussion. Passed by the National Assembly and sent back to the HoR. By accepting it, the HoR sends it to the President through the Speaker and it is implemented. Then the current budget holiday ends.
