1.5 million vaccines given by the United States have arrived in Nepal
KATHMANDU: JULY 12 – 1.5 million doses of vaccine provided by the US government have arrived in Nepal. The vaccine, which arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday morning, was handed over by US Ambassador to Nepal Randy William Berryto Health Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha.
The vaccine, which arrived in Nepal on a regular Qatar Airways flight, was given as a gift by the US government. While receiving the vaccine, Health Minister Shrestha said that the vaccine given by the US government would prove to be a boon for the survival of Nepali citizens.
The government has stated that it is preparing to vaccinate citizens in the age group of 50 to 54 years based on the priority given to them.
The United States has provided 1.5 million doses of vaccine to Nepal through the Covax program.
