KATHMANDU: MAY 24 – The stock market rose by 3.07 points on Monday, the second trading day of the week. By the end of the day, the Nepse index had risen 0.11 percent to 2,823.06 points. This is the highest point so far. On this day, the Sensitive Index has increased by 1.31 points and reached 508.49 points.

Among the indicators of 13 groups that came into business on this day, the indicators of mutual funds, investment, non-life insurance, hydropower and bikas banks have increased. All indicators of laghubitta, hotels and tourism, trade, life insurance, others, production and processing, laghubitta group have declined.

A total of 27.14 million shares of 216 companies were traded on Monday, resulting in a turnover of Rs 13.17 billion. This is the highest transaction amount so far.

Barun Hydropower Company is the highest earning company in the market. In second place is United Idi-Mardi Hydropower Company.

Shares of Barun Hydropower and United Idi-Mardi Hydropower Company have risen nearly 10 percent.
